Hello Sweet World, Welcome to the Global Kidchen

We eat and we travel. And now, we might just be the most darling family on the internet. Welcome to The Global Kidchen. We wanted to do something to open our eyes and learn about new people, places and cultures. Is there a better way to do that than together through food? It’s a mission to be a little spicy, a little funky, and try recipes from a new country each week. It’s also step back from the hustle and bustle of the daily routine and a step forward into each other and our surroundings.

We spend alot of time together in a little, loving kitchen, but we love to mix up the hustle-bustle routine with travel. So, just for fun, we are also documenting our trips and adventures! Teach them how to pack a suitcase early!

Yes, it’s cliche: A Story About Us – Eating, Traveling, Loving

Everyone needed a pandemic project and this one is ours. This story about us came about as a family who loves to travel, take in new cultures, and eat… alot. We decided it was time to document all the things we love doing as we eat our way around the globe – and to just set aside time to really enjoy each other. We will be learning about new places, new recipes, cooking together, and (gasp!) eating meals as a family. (And a mostly healthy amount of daydreaming about trips of the future!)

So, this is our sweet, culinary trip around the world – broadcasting live from our kitchen to yours. See where we have been and where we are going. We’ll take a little time to get to know a new place and each other all a little better! Like I mentioned earlier, we just really like to eat, and sometimes we just want to share new favorites, old favorites, family favorites, and the rest. Just because it wasn’t on our current feasting expedition doesn’t mean we can’t share!

One thing the four of us manage to all agree on is that traveling is pretty much the best. We’ve been so fortunate to be able to explore and travel as a family and want to soak in the memories as we conquer the bucket list!

Meet the Thomas Family:

CHRIS – This guy, he is really something – always game to try anything once. We’ve been taking pictures of him eating long before Instagram made it cool.
ALYSSA – The “Doogie Howser” of the Thomas Household. Always dreaming of the adventures to come and bringing out the best in those around her. A badass mom, dedicated dreamer, and celebrity chic chef.
LUKE – A bougie kind of kid with a little hint of savage too – ok, not really at all, he is just the sweetest boy. He thought it would be so funny to say. But… he can also put down some food, especially crab legs. The teenage years have fast approached and he will eat just about anything, no questions asked – time to get some side hustle!
JAKE – A fiery, old soul with just the right amount of sass. His current aspirations include being a chef – and does he love to help in the kitchen. Getting him to eat his creations is a different story. A connoisseur of snacks or anything in the noodle-food category, he will always leave his salad for last. If only we could all eat carbs as guilt-free as him.

The Thomas family is (currently) based out of Denver, Colorado by way of Orlando, Florida and a short time in Clemson, South Carolina. We love traveling, eating, and all sorts of outdoor adventuring. There’s a lot of humor in watching ex-beach bums learn to ski.
